That be time when government changing and introducing new policies like of “Manifest Destiny,” and seizing the lands from both Mexican and Indians using military for increasing country border to Pacific. Writer Hampton Sides also described the action of many historical personalities like as John C. Fremont and Stephen Kearny. When reader had reached middle of the book they find much interesting about Kit Carson . Kit Carson was representatives of the west and self made person, scout, trapper and soldier also , who despite taking two Indian wives and speaking their languages, he was also instrumental in the destruction of their societies and forced relocation to reservations.
