He is also big name for sports reviews and had won than fifty awards in journalism since 1989 and cited for distinguished writing by the Associated Press Sports Editors, the New York State Publishers Association, and the Poynter Institute. He lives in New Jersey.

There be big quest for every casual sports fan whenever he tried to find out glorious sports era .Like one such example that even rejoice many sports fan is the year 1927 when Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig combined for 107 homers and the Yankees won the pennant by 19 games. Many person having no importance for this events or might be they were not be there to witness but this event make it more popular then even before.

While the most of the world suffered with world war disaster and loss of life and there are some events which speared piece and even joys for every body. Its be comeback from war streets and making thrilling years in the sports history.

American have little concerns on the sports before 1941 but after that American paid attention and make sports events just like festive season and promote players and clubs like this came under the citizen rights . World war was started in worst condition from Europe and making many unhappy headlines day by days with death and blood of many, not issue that which counties they belongs but issue be human race would alive on earth in future . Many counties came under the United States camp to sort out the conflicts. In sports pages and arenas at home, however, an athletic perfect storm provided unexpected—and uplifting—relief. Four phenomenal sporting events were underway, each destined to become legend. There are many athletics which did superb performance and just divert many minds from war to sports . An athletic perfect storm makes sports now favorable to for everybody.

Sportswriter Mike Vaccaro chronicles try to collect many exciting and joyful sports moments in his book 1941—The Greatest Year in Sports. Which highly inspired by somber mania for sports – and hope to people lets touch with something good after worst time Americans by the millions fervently watched, listened, and read as Joe DiMaggio dazzled the country by hitting in a record-setting fifty-six consecutive games; Ted Williams powered through an unprecedented .406 season; Joe Louis and Billy Conn (the heavyweight and light-heavyweight champions) battled in unheard-of fashion for boxing’s ultimate championship; and the phenomenal (some say deranged) thoroughbred, Whirlaway, raced to three heart-stopping victories that won the coveted Triple Crown of horse racing. As Phil Rizzuto perfectly expressed, “You read the sports section a lot because you were afraid of what you’d see in other parts of the paper.”
Fascinating and wistful, 1941— mainly moves around four seminal events and close everybody to the much excited and unforgettable success (many records still have which are no break by anybody ) and also describe vibrant and stunning life of the athletics who always willing to work for pride of his nation .With vast insight, Vaccaro pulls back the veil on DiMaggio’s anxieties and the building pressure of “The Streak,” and chronicles the brash, young confidence Williams displayed as he hammered his way through the baseball season largely in DiMaggio’s shadow. He takes readers inside the head of Billy Conn, a kid who traded in his light-heavyweight belt for a shot at the very decent and very powerful Joe Louis, and tells the story of the fire-breathing racehorse, Whirlaway, who was known either for setting track records or tearing off in the wrong direction.
Rich in historical detail and edge-of-your-seat reporting, Mike Vaccaro has crafted a lasting, important book that captures a portrait of one of America’s most trying, and extraordinary, eras.

Special notes which are wrote for this Book are

“This was simply a genius idea . . . It is of little surprise the New York Post’s Vaccaro, the best sports columnist in that city, delivered an exceptionally written and researched book that fascinates even the many of us born long after the year in question.” –Yahoo!

Navtej Kohli very confused when he was reading Blood and Thunder written by Hampton Sides and told without reading complete this book reader unable to grasp its meaning . According to Navtej Kohli on the Artistic view book is find but some biasness shown by writer and he have to think in broad way.
This book is just be a flash back or even collecting the historical events of America west between the era 1825-1850. That be time when government changing and introducing new policies like of “Manifest Destiny,” and seizing the lands from both Mexican and Indians using military for increasing country border to Pacific. Writer Hampton Sides also described the action of many historical personalities like as John C. Fremont and Stephen Kearny. When reader had reached middle of the book they find much interesting about Kit Carson . Kit Carson was representatives of the west and self made person, scout, trapper and soldier also , who despite taking two Indian wives and speaking their languages, he was also instrumental in the destruction of their societies and forced relocation to reservations.
According to Troy Patterson for the Book Blood and thunder ”a precursor to the modern western, briskly paced and packed with cliffhangers and hair-raising scrapes,” and his fascinating work delivers just those pulpy pleasures as it recounts America’s expansionist war against Mexico in the 19th century. The ambivalent hero is the trapper and scout Kit Carson, who personifies ”the surge of Manifest Destiny” while also sensing that ”the once inexhaustible West was shrinking before his eyes.”
“Blood and thunder” writes quest and conquer of Americans west. Probably American can find that book much of romantic and cherished everybody about America’s legendry.
“Blood and Thunder” is the story of the quest for, and conquest of, the American West. It is, as we know, the most romantic of stories, and arguably the most cherished of America’s myths.
Whenever reading that book one can easily find that write either be philosopher or even know better human psychology. Some words and seems like burden when first be read but after knowing what author real want anybody have words that writer can write in this way or even writer missed something . Lets have a look a passage from the book “As the forerunners of Western civilization, creeping up the river valleys and across the mountain passes, the trappers brought smallpox and typhoid, they brought guns and whiskey and venereal disease, they brought the puzzlement of money and the gleam of steel. And on their liquored breath they whispered the coming of an unimaginable force, of a gathering shadow on the eastern horizon, gorging itself on the continent as it pressed steadily this way.”
Many times this passages look like author wrote in very encrypted way, like solider often used in war , so that enemy unable to dictate its means. He is master in describing character thumbnail sketches with comprehensives and concise means at the same time. Like we take a character of Stephen Watts Kearny, who commanded the Army of the West, writer beautifully described his all addiction and identification in just four lines “On innumerable occasions he had smoked the pipe with Indians, learning their manner of speaking, their penchant for metaphor; he once flattered a Sioux chief by complimenting him on the ‘soaring eagle of your fame.’ During a council with Oglala Indians, he heartily partook of the local delicacies — boiled dog and blood-tinged river water from the paunch of a buffalo.”
Besides that many character are in this book which beautifully described by author . Its be long tell of person who get now life by Sides ink like John C. Frémont; Maj. John Chivington, the murderous parson; Charles Bent, first the owner of Bent’s Fort and then the governor of New Mexico, and his great adversary, Padre Antonio Martínez, the enigmatic cura of Taos; the Navajo leader Manuelito; the diarist and correspondent Susan Magoffin; still many name having but having less importance in comparison to noted one. While one can read Sides words which he wrote on Taos revolt and the epic march of the Colorado Civil War volunteers. Writer wrote that book There was a long tail of the characters in this book , writer describes them with significant meaning and importance in history ,like writer had made character according to book or even stories writer to be keep characters in mind .

Author main character is Kit Carson and whole book moving on his circumstances and life moreover while we see in history Kit Carson played important role. Who was born in 1809 in Kentucky, having 5 feet 4 inches height with blue-eyed, soft-spoken and fearless voice. American considered him as hero of dime-novel era and rewarded as survivor and having all qualities , leader must have . Writer then came to means and fill the book with blood-and-thunder pulps.

Nobody can determine and describe exactly about his stuffs and work , specially when he was enters in mythic dimension. Billy the Kid had marks him with great respect like power man, loyal , cold blooded efficient killers .
It is be book having significance with humanity, life, history and American proud and existence . But writer had wrote the book like just for American. He has to write this book with global reader in mind. Sometimes Navtej Kohli found to understands this book and characters one should have understanding of poetry. Writer wrote many features in one like, which make reader sometime very puzzle. Writer also wrote book with many character and described beautifully both moves his story on few person and reader can be get rid to determine , which character for which currently he is reading .Sometimes writer like very conservative and look like self promotion of events and only American . Its be good that writer shows patriotism for America. But while he is defining historical events like he had very hate nessfor Indians or even other , but in my view writer had to concentrate his mind on historical circumstances .Moreover writer having mastery to describe character beautifully.

Navtej Kohli had wrote many book reviews which stories having some social problems associated with it and author want to sort out that problem and showing some novel person whom fight for. But in the book which wrote by Johnston, Paul and named is The Death List Navtej Kohli finds book having some attraction which makes everybody tom read this book in just one sitting.

It is sure that writer did not wrote this book for sensitive or soft hard persons because book having some graphic scenes of the utmost bloody cruelty. Book Hero Matt wells who is living in London and crime novelist by profession and had wrote many successful novel which get reward from both reader and publisher but now he was suffering from writers block and has been dropped by both his publisher and literary agent. He is facing money problems suddenly he has contacted by serial killer who know name “White Devil” and he knows all about Matt.

Then series of murders had started and Matt is very amazed to know that killings are based upon a novel story which was wrote by him and more amazing thing the police suspects him for such killings. Killer White Devils send huge money to Matt and told to write graphic descriptions of the murders and email them to the murderer. Threats are made that his ex-wife and daughter will be killed in a gory manner if he doesn’t carry out the killer’s wishes and at first Matt complies.

Then writer Matt decided to make our self to hard enough to protect from the killer and with the friends help who knows author since his rugby playing days. Some odd moments then writer have to face but at the end of this story reached a satisfactory solutions. Many person believes , because as the book name also suggest that story having full of thriller and violence story but besides that movie contains much emotion and feelings .

Writer had also said that he wrote novel very speedily because much ideas came while describing one scene and nest scène plots in mind despite such speed ness also novel had revised many times while writing to check either something missing .Write wrote that he knows about people madness for Greek fiction novel , but he decide to write something about his vicinity and choose Great Wen itself, London. Writer having desire to write a personal book upon life, death and other. Author also finds relationship crime novelists have with their material. Sometimes author write many illegal notes and makes them that he is because of situation and some mistakes of society . Matt having specialty to write criminal novel with some clear vision how murder being take place and what be morality behind every murder. Sometimes author make environment very light such that reader feel nice sometimes makes horrible and reader might be scared. This book having many funny parts and writer using Jacobean revenge tragedies. So, a Paul Johnston novel set in contemporary London. No sunny Greek island, no grimy futurist Edinburgh. Havoc in Harley Street, disorder in Dulwich, and something horrible in Hackney to start off with.

The Death List is Paul Johnston bounce back novel which having bumper pack of London based crime fiction like BOGOF (buy one get one free) deal. Book having 427 pages which having full drama of fiction.

Book hero Matt Wells discarded by his own highly professional and ambitious working, his books agent publisher, but now there is one big fan who alive in the city and contact him through mail. Wails the person who likes Matt books at most and used his stories to plot killings.. This fan likes crime fiction and wants to make it real, first picking off from his own “Death List” and then working on what he perceives as Wells’s own revenge “Death List”. He very cleverly enrolls Wells in his killing endeavors, with no obvious way out. It becomes a game of cat and mouse with Wells implicated as an accomplice, where the Devil has Wells writing his story. Can Wells escape from this from this veritable goriest, and how?

Writer plot new idea in his novel , its seems like Author had placed him in this novel and then writes what he feels when he fell in such situations . Many reader denoted killer Wails be a mad sometimes people had suffered in such situation either he had failed to find something like live , money , passion or even he had seen crime either in his life or even other life and want to give judgment for whom who suffered from some unpleasant and feels like he having God in him and what he is doing is right . Sometimes that person living split behavior life , one the on side he is living simple sober life and other hand he is doing crime . Whatever that be great book and every body will enjoy to read.

Bruce Chatwin book The Viceroy of Ouidah is a very famous book . It is based on Francisco’s life and life events. Many parts of West African a large number of Dom Francisco descendants gathered every year in Ouidah, Dahomey for paying homage and respect to Francisco. While Francisco’s was living at the end of his life , a daughter was born who is dying this year , very disappointed due to the English lieutenant love who had left her . A nephew of Francisco is also dying and one of the clergy denied to convert Dom Francisco’s bedroom into a shrine. The story is moving around Francisco life , since childhood he was spending poor life in Brazil . But he had friendship with a very rich family , so he shifted to Ouidah in 1812 and started working as slave trade factor, rise with a change of rulers to a lofty position as King’s Viceroy at Ouidah, and old age and death in fallen state. It’s an extraordinary rags-to-riches-to-rags tale. Making story very interesting , instead of telling events straight as like dictation author had beautifully draw every event and feeling with emotions .Even rightly described comic as well as tragic scene for macabre and the lyrical ,having some touchy moments which revels how author deeply studied every character in mind before drawing his character .Author connecting not only two country in his story but also two continents and also two centuries . Special effects of cultural and geographical distance as well as changing time drama.

The Story tells which was moving in the eighteen hundred era, . Francisco Felix da Souza life and events who was Brazilian salve trader and telling how he was helped the Dahomeyan Prince to got the throne and became king than he got ownership or even monopoly over slaves trading entire Africa. But friendship between king two was very short and soon da Souza died in very poor condition . Bruce Chatwin first want to write just biography of da Souza but after studying Pierre Verger’s monumental and Benin-Brazil slave trade , he changed his mind and making story such that its covers most crucial topic first with making historical events full of fiction. Finally the book was published in 1980 Author narrate story that Francisco Manoel da who lived in Bahia, Brazil was poor and white helaped Dahomeyan prince Kankpé in his ascent to kingship, is rewarded by being appointed Viceroy of Ouidah Dahomey’s port city with the power of whole sole dealing in slaves trade with monopoly .when the dynasty ruined , he turned into half mad beggar on which he was ruled . But the novel start with the celebration in the remembrance of da Silva organized by his descendants who was scattered and living poor lives somewhere and now collected on 117th annual reunion in the decaying cathedral of Ouidah .

Author nicely described every scene and events also make a good remarks over old political condition and current situation . Best combination of describing lifestyle and way of behaving with some public views with throwing some light over African slavery system in the olden age also telling some messages that we are Human and every human is similar and same also god never like making slave to anybody .

Some other exciting By Navtej Kohli

Many persons had patent something he had noticed that patent system is only fuss and out of control. Many people had notified patent press that misuse or illegal use or products sale which they get patent. Such that in arts much application still pending whish shows that frivolous patent lawsuit. But due to not having enough data especially in software field many companies suffering its harm. James Bessen and Michael J. Meurer Boston university student try to find out important of patent rules after deep study and analysis with some aspects they writes some notes over that crucial matter.

Patent failure examine US patent Law and its rules and various circumstances which make patent rules came into force. Traditionally its was treated as making technology as a property of inventor of company. Many of other things those influenced patent rules might be property rights and economical conditions.

Both author found patent is ineffective and expensive law which effect not only patent owner but also customer who are using that product. Patent Failure pointing with observed evidence, largely economic, but also from history, international comparison, and legal precedent. The book focuses quite a bit (some might say a bit too much) on the claims brought by E-Data, now a decade-old case. Patent is very different and you cannot associate it with trademark or even copyright issue and there are came under different law suits. Some business and people mark patent as property while distributing their product especially software but they have to keep in mind that patent law have different looks about your owner ship. While discussing software patent , both writer found that software owner cannot keep track on the illegal use of software on the other hand many pirated or even unpatented software work better then patented software. But both are highly satisfied with chemical and pharmaceutical patents , they quoted that if a company have pharmaceutical patents or even having some chemical patent , the case of piracy or even delicacy be NULL. In the 9th chapter of the Book reader can find rich information about “Abstract Patents and Software,” Software developers oppose patents on their own work. You simply cannot draw the same fence around the property lines of software patents the way you would around the property boundaries of the land you own. Software paten failure is a big issue and its be needed to take extra attention over that and some reforms also be welcomed for that .

First, the real need for the patent system is for small entities. Large firms can protect their markets just fine by their size alone. If large firms are on balance paying more for their patents than the value they receive in turn, I am not surprised. Large firms are seldom responsible for groundbreaking technologies. More often than not large firms are defendants in the big patent suits because they are slow to truly innovate. They’re good at refining, but seldom do they come up with revolutionary innovations. That is what small firms most often do. That the book you review ignores that fact only highlights how worthless and/or biased their work is. If the patent system puts the big firms at risk, it is only because they are not innovating.

All this talk of a need for patent “deform” is but a red herring fabricated by a handful of large tech firms as a diversion away from the real issue…that they have no valid defense against charges they are using other parties’ technologies without permission. It’s not about reforming the system. It’s about legalizing theft!

The objective of these large firms is not to fix the patent system, but to destroy it or pervert it so only they may obtain and defend patents; to make it a sport of kings. Patents are a threat against their market dominance. They would rather use their size alone to secure their market position. Patents of others, especially small entities, jeopardize that. For example, the proposed change to eliminate the use of injunctions would only further encourage blatant infringement. Any large company would merely force you to make them take a license. They would have little to lose. Everything would be litigated to death -if a small entity can come up with the cash to pursue. That’s what these large multinationals are betting against. This legislation in regressive, not progressive.

Sadly, some legislators and other parties have been duped by these slick firms and their well greased lawyers, lobbyists (some disguised as trade or public interest groups…a la Bessen and Meurer), and stealth PR firms. Don’t be surprised to find the Washington lobbyist scandal spreading into the patent deform proceedings.

When corporate America agrees to not use our inventions without consent, American inventors and small entities will agree to stop suing them.

Chemical formulas provide a precise language for describing patent claims and a straightforward way to search existing patents. As a result, patent law is much more predictable in these industries. It’s easier for firms to avoid inadvertent infringement, and patent holders have less difficulty collecting royalties.

Moreover Patent Failure is very good book and gives wide area or discussing this issue . Perhaps while patent rules might be written the person having no idea to take software related patent issue . But I found that book is white paper of research work and US government has to amend its paten law.

Navtej Kohli having very profound knowledge about writer moods and perspective. Knowing after story and tales many times Navtej Kohli feels that either some parts of story was missing or even changed his mind or story plot after writing half one.

Although it’s true that many author who writes for sometimes makes story that older person became bored to read or even make such that seems some adult content while they want that book to be read by teengers and adult person

Prolific talents and sardonic wit of British author Diana Wynne Jones makes him to wrote such those fantasy genres which have art of coming story with many shades and color. In an interview with Kit Alderdice for Publishers Weekly , “include laugh-aloud humor, plenty of magic, and an imaginative array of alternate worlds.” besides that Alderdice also write about that author “great sense of seriousness” which can be found in Diana books but he also point out that “Jones’s books are never grim, nor are they didactic.” That British author writing with passion of making fiction for children for near about thirty years.

Author Diana Wynne Jones was born on Auguts 16 1934 , since childhood she had passion to became a writer . During second war when many youths were worried about to take wars horrors , she was shifted to Wales. In her early age she was living with her grandmother and sister , but while she grows her mother and new sister also lived with her. . In 1940 the family moved to Westmorland in northern England, where Jones and her siblings lived with other children evacuated from southern, urban areas. Then Diana Wynne Jones met with two author lived nearby house name was Ransome and Beatrix Potter and she knows about writer and writing skills . But due to war she was again shifted to Yorkshire in 1940 . In the 1942 she moved to London where the author and his life came into life. Though she did publish one adult novel in 1970, her first children’s work, Wilkins’ Tooth, did not appear until 1973.

Stories of Diana Wynne Jones like fun loving beats and in the book which name is Black Maria is another loving and chilled story for which Diana Wynne Jones’ is famous for. The book starts to say that some older person in everyone child age must be have who dislikes unless and until you do what they want. Such that Black Maria is also be that old person but she very worst in such situation while dealing with younger and makes kids uneasy. Very Irritating woman having some evil magical power also who lives in Cranbury-on-Sea and is only an Aunt by marriage to Chris and Mig’s mother. Father of Chris and Mig’s was going when went to met Aunt Maria . Life in Cranbury revolves around Aunt Maria’s tea parties, to which only women are invited (the Mrs Urs as Chris and Mig term them). Meanwhile the men of the town act like zombies and the children, who are kept at an orphanage, are like clones. Mig and Chris was feels bad in Cranbury because of Chris’s room ghost, but they suspected Aunt Maria d\behind all this magic one day due to some reason Aunt Maria mush over irritated over Chris and turned him to wolf then mug took this challenge to make again good and removing the magical power of Aunt Maria .Its very diificult to dealt with Aunt Maria because she was very wicked , who had turned her own daughter named Naomi to wolf . Jones paints a chilling picture of Cranbury as a sort of a “Stepford Wives” situation, except that it’s really “Stepford Husbands and Children”, who are all slaves to the stifling sweetness of Aunt Maria. Mig is a likeable character, although her rebellious brother Chris is rather more engaging, and I wanted to shake their meek, submissive mother. But in reality Aunt Maria was very frighteningly woman and having some outdated opinion –like girls wearing trouser, people eating fish chips for dinner and she liked to favor boys in comparison .But by nature she was kind hatred too , its true that having some magical power but she used when someone get irritated .Moreover its be great story , specially on kids perspective.

A review by Navtej Kohli

The Joy of Reiki is a truly an enlightener. This book is a perpetual spring of selfless love and joy that flows via Reiki. Written by the Fourth Great Grandmaster of Reiki, Nalin Nirula and his clairvoyant wife, Reenu Nirula, the Joy of Reiki nourishes your mind while healing your soul and body simultaneously. It connects you to the eternal and freely flowing love of the Divine – the supreme authority.

The book consists of chapters running in a sequence guiding you through the path of Reiki, step by step. I would suggest you to must read the testimonials section. It is perhaps the most enlightening part of the book. It comprise of people’s personal experiences, who adopted reiki and noticed an remarkable difference in their lives. Book also contains some real medical reports that further validate the substance of Reiki.

I got this book as gift last year from a very close friend. After completing the book my first obvious reaction was “Why didn’t I read this book before?”

Trust me, you will not regret your decision of buying this book.

Navtej Kohli always welcoming female writer to check out the society and enviroment . According to Navtej Kohli while women writer write on some special topic the difference between a male writing and female writing can be easily noticed such that female writer use genuine language and dare to show up hidden points .

Lisa Gardner who is currently living in New Hampshire with her loving and charming husband . In the words of Lisa “My husband is very nice and fun play guys having some kickoff stuffs with loves auto-racing and black-diamond skiing and loving and cheerful moments with daughter all the way”. Lisa had write many novels but this Book “Say Goodbye” has different shades in comparison to other novels that Lisa wrote before. Lisa reader knows her novels that she wrote to hide out some dark shaded part of the society but it is a romantic novel.

No one between us want to be ‘arachnophobias’ . A man is taking prostitutes and requesting they allow his pet spiders to crawl on them, a “harmless fetish” you might say but the prostitutes are starting to go missing. FBI Agent Kimberly Quint is approached by a prostitute whose friend has gone missing, lucky for her Quint is not one to ignore a request for help. Gardner is inspired by many true crime cases, I’d prefer to think this one comes purely from imagination.
